Update

It has been a bit of time since I updated the blog. Aaron is doing pretty well. He is much more mobile, and he is trying to walk around without his walker. He spends just a little time in the wheelchair (especially outside in this weather!). It is challenging with the snow and the ice.

He has had a couple of infections which have been troublesome. He was put on 2 courses of antibiotics which seem to have helped. We are hoping that he is not going to get any more.

Aaron had an appointment with Dr. Snyder last Wednesday. Other than the minor pin infection, he was very happy with Aaron's progress. On the x-ray, Jonathan and I could see where the new bone is getting filled in. It is quite amazing, really. He is ahead of schedule. At Aaron's next appointment at the beginning of March, he will have another x-ray. If his bone looks good, Dr. Snyder might take the bottom part of the fixator off. This will be a day surgery and will free up his foot. That will be better. Aaron will be able to wear a sneaker and not have his foot exposed to the elements.

PT continues to go well, but is painful for Aaron. We are doing PT every day at home, and he is a real trooper and is showing great progress. All in all things continue to go well!
