I was very tired this morning because Aaron had a restless night. My good friend, Kim, showed up right at 7:30 this morning with a hot coffee! It is true that all good gifts come from God - a hot caffeinated beverage delivered by a friend who gives good hugs is one of them! So, I was able to make it through the morning.
Aaron walked with his PT in the morning. That was very painful for him, but he was such a trooper. We got ready to go to Children's and it took most of the morning to do that. Nana came in time to help me get Aaron in the van. Nana stayed home to get Ethan off the bus. Aaron was tired and he slept most of the way down.
Jonathan met us down at Children's for Aaron's 1:30 appointment and we saw Dr. Snyder and his nurse Carol. Carol had to take off the dressings from the surgery, and this was very painful for Aaron. He recovered well, however. They said that everything was healing fine and looked pretty good. Carol and I did a pin cleaning while we were there, and she gave me some pointers. I also was able to talk to her about pain management. Dr. Snyder gave us the spreadsheet that tells how to turn the screws for his lengthening. We will start this process tomorrow!! Dr. Snyder also told us how to be sure he is not getting any nerve damage. We received a lot of information, and I think that we have got it all down. I'm glad that Jonathan was there too.
We headed home at 4:00, and we were sure we were going to hit traffic. We hit Burger King on the way home because Aaron really wanted a kid's meal. We were happy to oblige. It only took us an hour to get home which was WONDERFUL! Aaron slept all the way home, and we had a meal waiting for us. Thank you so much - it is so nice to have a meal that is ready to go after such a long day.
Aaron also received a Red Sox bear from Golden Brook. He LOVED it - thank you. I'll have a picture of him with the bear tomorrow. Good night for now. I am hoping that we all get really good rest tonight. Jonathan will be staying home tomorrow - Yeah!
