We had to wait quite a bit for Aaron to go into surgery. He did so well waiting patiently and was in really good spirits. They finally called his name and Jonathan, Aaron and I went into the prep room. Grammie, Nana, Papa, and Ethan went into the family waiting room (which is really nice, btw).
While in the prep room, we met with all the necessary medical personnel. Aaron was busy with a dinosaur sticker page and watching Cartoon Network (a treat for him). There is a picture below of him waiting. Doesn't he look cute in his johnny?? Dr. Snyder showed us the spatial frame that he would place on his leg - boy it looks really big and awkward. It didn't seem to phase Aaron. Also, Dr. Snyder mentioned that he would have to lengthen a bit of his calf muscle. We were hoping to avoid this, but by doing this, it will be better for Aaron.
Finally it was time to go into the operating room at 10 am (surgery was scheduled for 8:30 am). Aaron took his rootbeer flavored mask, Jonathan, and his bear (named Jonathan) into the operating room. Jonathan said that Aaron did very well, and he fell asleep peacefully. As I said, he was very peaceful and not anxious at all. Thank you for your prayers. We will have a surgery update around 11:30. I will update the blog then.
